Leadership Development Strong and Growing

With everything else seemingly going down it is nice to know that something is on the rise.  Leadership development!  Companies are assessing the talent pool and determining where the strong candidates are that will infuse the company with the leadership needed to lead to the next level.

We have seen dramatic changes and the only choice we really have is to embrace the change and move forward.  Things are not going to go back to “the good old days” they never do.  When we are faced with a challenge there is always someone that will tackle the problems and obstacles and move on.  Companies want to make sure that the person that is solving those problems or at least putting strategies in action are the ones that have the values, morals and skills and talent to do effectively. 

For many companies this is looking at employees that were not seen as leaders before, but are now demonstrating their skills and talents in new ways.   This may be because they have been allowed to surface from under their “job description” to become more involved in the solution to the problems the company may be facing.

I would question any leader that rose to the top without the “battle scars” of being in the trenches.  The view from the front line is much different from the view on the mountain top.  Companies now have the opportunity to assess and develop future leaders.  Not only do they have the opportunity, but they are acting upon it and utilizing training, coaches, mentors and other learning’s to make it happen.

I say, Let the Development Begin!
